What is a driver and why do you need to update them?

A driver is a translator between your hardware (like your printer or graphics card) and Windows. It tells your hardware how to do what Windows asks. Keeping drivers updated fixes bugs, improves performance, and adds new features.

Every piece of hardware on your computer — your graphics card, printer, keyboard, mouse, network adapter — needs a driver. The driver is the software that lets Windows control that hardware. It's like a translator between a language Windows speaks and a language the hardware understands. When you update drivers, you get bug fixes, better performance, and support for new features.
