Your monitor shows 'No Signal' or goes black

The cable connecting your computer to your monitor is probably loose or disconnected. We'll check and reseat it, then make sure Windows detects your display.

Your monitor connects to your computer with a cable that carries the video signal. When the cable is loose, unplugged, damaged, or not fully connected, the monitor can't receive the image and shows 'No Signal'. We'll check the cable, secure it, and check that Windows sees your monitor.

  • Make sure your monitor power cable is plugged in and the monitor is turned on
  • Make sure your computer is powered on and you can hear it running
  • Check that the display cable is accessible for inspection and reconnection
