Night Light or blue light filter isn't turning on in Windows
Night Light sometimes gets turned off by Windows updates or disabled if your graphics driver doesn't support it. Go to Settings → System → Display and look for Night Light — if it says Not available, your graphics driver needs updating. If the toggle is off, just turn it on and set a schedule.
Night Light reduces blue light on your screen in the evening to help you sleep better. It's a software feature that can be disabled in your display settings or blocked by an older graphics driver. We'll turn it on in settings first, then update the driver if needed.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Turning on Night Light once but forgetting to set a schedule — it won't stay on automatically without one
- Setting the strength too low and then thinking it's broken — increasing the strength makes it more noticeable
- Assuming Night Light is broken when it just got turned off by a Windows update
Signs you need professional help
- After updating the driver, Night Light still shows as not available — there can be a compatibility issue with your graphics card
- Night Light toggle is grayed out and you can't click it
