Contacts not syncing to your smartwatch
Contacts don't sync automatically on smartwatches — you need to turn on syncing in your watch settings. On Apple Watch, go to Settings → Phone → Sync Contacts. On Samsung Galaxy Watch, open Galaxy Wearable app on your phone → Apps → Contacts and toggle Sync On.
Your watch stores a copy of your phone contacts for quick calling and texting. This copy needs to be turned on in your watch settings — it doesn't happen by default. Once turned on, contacts sync automatically whenever your watch is connected to your phone. If syncing is on but contacts are missing, it means the connection is stalled.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Assuming syncing happens automatically — it doesn't; you have to turn it on in settings
- Thinking all contacts will sync instantly — syncing takes a few seconds to a few minutes based on how many contacts you have
- Using a different contacts app instead of the phone's built-in contacts — third-party contact apps don't sync to the watch
Signs you need professional help
- You've enabled syncing, restarted both devices, and contacts still don't appear
- Some contacts sync but others don't — there can be a data corruption issue
- You see contacts on your watch but they're outdated and won't update
- The watch app won't let you enable contact syncing because of a software issue
