Notifications on your smartwatch are delayed or arrive late
Your phone's notification settings are blocking the watch from getting alerts, or your watch has gone to sleep. The quickest fix is to go to your phone's notification settings and make sure your watch apps are allowed to send alerts. On your watch, also make sure notifications are turned on and the watch isn't in Do Not Disturb mode.
Your watch gets notifications through your phone — but only if your phone is set to send them. If you've blocked notifications from apps on your phone, or if your watch has Do Not Disturb on, alerts won't get through. Sometimes your phone's sleep settings also prevent the watch from waking up to show you notifications. Checking a few quick settings on both your phone and watch solves it.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Turning off notifications for the whole phone instead of just Do Not Disturb — this blocks all alerts
- Not realizing that scheduling Do Not Disturb (like 9pm to 9am) prevents notifications during those hours
- Checking the watch notification settings without checking the phone's app permissions first
Signs you need professional help
- You've turned off Do Not Disturb, enabled all app notifications, and the watch is connected, but still no alerts
- Your watch was getting notifications fine and suddenly stopped
- Notifications work from some apps but not others, even though they're allowed on your phone
