Notifications on your smartwatch are delayed or arrive late

Your phone's notification settings are blocking the watch from getting alerts, or your watch has gone to sleep. The quickest fix is to go to your phone's notification settings and make sure your watch apps are allowed to send alerts. On your watch, also make sure notifications are turned on and the watch isn't in Do Not Disturb mode.

Your watch gets notifications through your phone — but only if your phone is set to send them. If you've blocked notifications from apps on your phone, or if your watch has Do Not Disturb on, alerts won't get through. Sometimes your phone's sleep settings also prevent the watch from waking up to show you notifications. Checking a few quick settings on both your phone and watch solves it.
