Fitness tracker heart rate readings seem wrong
Heart rate sensors need good skin contact to work. Move the tracker higher up your wrist, make sure it's snug, and wash your skin where it sits. Sweat, lotion, and dirt block the light the sensor uses. After you move it and clean it, do a quick test walk and the readings should be accurate again.
Heart rate trackers use light to measure your pulse through your skin. If the sensor isn't touching your skin properly, the light can't do its job and the numbers go wrong. The fix is almost always tightening the band, moving it to the right spot on your wrist, and making sure the sensor area is clean and dry.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Wearing the tracker too loose thinking it needs to be comfortable. A heart rate sensor needs to be snug to read properly
- Not cleaning the sensor before testing again. Sweat residue blocks the light even after you take it off and put it back on
- Comparing your tracker to a phone's heart rate app. Phone sensors are different and not reliable for this
Signs you need professional help
- You've tightened it, cleaned it, and fully charged it, and readings are still wrong The sensor or back of the tracker looks damaged or cracked
