What's the difference between GPS and connected GPS on your watch?

Built-in GPS uses your watch's own satellite receiver to find where you are. Connected GPS uses your phone's GPS signal instead. Built-in GPS is more accurate for runs and cycling.

GPS mode uses the chip built into your watch to get location from satellites without needing your phone nearby. Connected GPS lets your watch borrow your phone's GPS signal instead of using its own receiver. Built-in GPS is more accurate for workouts but uses more battery. Connected GPS only works when your phone is with you.
