What does the blood oxygen reading on your watch mean?
Blood oxygen is the amount of oxygen your blood is carrying right now. A reading between 95-100% is normal. Anything below 90% is worth mentioning to your doctor.
Your watch measures blood oxygen by shining a light on your wrist and detecting how much oxygen your blood is carrying. This number goes up when you're active and breathing harder, and down when you're resting or sleeping. Most healthy people have readings between 95-100%. If your reading stays below 90%, that's worth bringing up with your doctor at your next appointment.
