Smartwatch face won't change or keeps reverting to the default

The watch and phone aren't synced properly — the watch didn't get the instruction to change the face. Restart both the watch and your phone, then try changing the face again from the watch itself, not the app. This fixes it for almost everyone in under a minute.

Your watch and phone talk to each other to keep settings in sync. When that connection gets interrupted, the watch doesn't get the message to change faces. Restarting both devices clears out any stuck connections and lets them sync properly again. If restarting doesn't work, the face you picked can not be compatible or there's a glitch in the app.
