Smartwatch screen stays black and won't turn on
Your watch might be completely drained of battery. Charge it for at least 30 minutes, then try restarting it. If it's still black after charging, do a force restart. Most of the time the battery was just completely empty.
A black smartwatch screen is usually a dead battery or a frozen display. We'll charge it fully, force restart it, and check if wrist detection or do-not-disturb mode is accidentally turned on. One of these fixes will bring the screen back.
- ✓Have your watch charger ready and plugged in
- ✓Make sure the charging contacts on the watch are clean — wipe them gently with a dry cloth
- ✓Be prepared to leave the watch charging for 30 minutes to an hour
- ✓Have your phone nearby in case you need to check settings

Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Not charging long enough — a completely dead battery needs at least 30 minutes before any sign of life
- Thinking the watch is broken when it's just dead. Always charge first
- Not doing a full force restart. Sometimes just plugging in is not enough
- Not checking the charger — a faulty charger won't charge the watch
Signs you need professional help
- If the screen is still completely black after charging for a full hour and doing a force restart. If the screen shows cracks or physical damage. If the watch is brand new and never lit up.
