Soundbar not turning on automatically when you turn on the TV
This is almost certainly because a setting called CEC (or HDMI ARC) is turned off. This is the feature that lets devices talk to each other through HDMI. You need to turn on CEC on both your TV and soundbar.
Your TV and soundbar communicate through an HDMI cable using a feature called CEC. When CEC is on, turning on the TV sends a signal to the soundbar telling it to wake up too. If CEC is off on either device, that signal never gets sent. Turning it back on on both devices fixes the problem.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step — just tap, no typing needed.
Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Leaving the soundbar in Eco Mode or Power Saving Mode while trying to set up auto-on. These modes block the wake signal
- Connecting the soundbar with a regular audio cable instead of HDMI. CEC only works through HDMI
- Turning on CEC on only the TV and forgetting to turn it on the soundbar too. Both devices need it on
Signs you need professional help
- You've turned on CEC on both the TV and soundbar and it still doesn't work after 24 hours Your soundbar is very old and doesn't have CEC. We can suggest a different connection method You're unsure whether your TV and soundbar actually support CEC. We can check for you
