What is Dolby Atmos and do you need it for your TV
Dolby Atmos is sound technology that adds height to your audio. It makes movies feel like the sound is coming from above you, not just from the sides and front. It's nice to have but not necessary unless you want a premium movie theatre experience and have good speakers at home.
Dolby Atmos creates a three-dimensional sound experience by using extra speakers that point upward or toward the ceiling. When you watch a movie with Dolby Atmos, you hear audio coming from all around you. Including from above. Which makes action scenes and special effects feel much more immersive. However, it only works if your TV, speakers, and the content you're watching all support it. If your TV and speakers don't have Dolby Atmos, you can't use it. No amount of changing settings will enable it.
