TV screen has dead pixels or stuck colored dots

A dead pixel is a broken part of the screen that can't be fixed by software. It's a hardware problem. Stuck pixels (bright colored dots) sometimes go away on their own after a few hours, but dead pixels (black dots) are permanent. If it's brand new and under warranty, you can have the screen replaced.

Your TV screen is made of millions of tiny pixels. When one breaks and won't light up, that's a dead pixel. When one breaks and stays locked on a color, that's a stuck pixel. Stuck pixels sometimes unstick themselves after running the display for a while.
