Chromecast keeps disconnecting from WiFi
Chromecast is losing WiFi because your router or the connection between them is unstable. Move the Chromecast closer to the router, restart your router, and make sure your Chromecast is on the 2.4GHz network. Most Chromecasts work better on 2.4GHz than 5GHz. This fixes it for most people.
Chromecast needs a stable WiFi connection to work, and small drops or weak signals cause it to disconnect. The problem is almost always one of three things: the Chromecast is too far from the router, your router needs restarting, or the Chromecast is on the 5GHz network when it should be on 2.4GHz. Moving it closer and restarting your router will solve this in most cases.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Trying to keep Chromecast on 5GHz because it's faster. 2.4GHz is actually more stable for Chromecast even if it sounds slower
- Moving Chromecast but forgetting to move the router too. If both are far from each other, move the one that's easier to relocate
- Not waiting long enough after restarting the router. Routers need 2-3 minutes to fully restart, not 10 seconds
Signs you need professional help
- You've moved Chromecast closer, restarted the router, and switched to 2.4GHz but it keeps disconnecting Every device on your WiFi is slow or dropping connection. This is a problem with the router itself
