Camera not showing in Zoom calls
Zoom does not have permission to use your camera or the camera is disconnected. First check that your camera is plugged in and turned on. Then go to Zoom Settings → Video and make sure your camera is selected. If Zoom still has no video, restart Zoom completely.
Zoom needs two things to show video: the camera must be connected and working, and Zoom must have permission to use it. We will check the camera connection, make sure it is selected in Zoom settings, grant Zoom permission to use the camera, and restart Zoom if needed.
- ✓Have your camera connected to your computer by USB or built into your device
- ✓Have Zoom installed and updated to the latest version
- ✓Have admin rights to change device permissions if needed
- ✓Have a Zoom account or meeting link ready to test the camera
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Not checking that the camera is actually selected in Zoom settings. The wrong camera might be selected
- Assuming the camera is broken when it is just not connected. Always check the USB cable first
- Restarting the computer instead of just Zoom. Restarting Zoom is usually faster and works
Signs you need professional help
- Camera works in other apps but Zoom still shows no video after granting permission and restarting. Camera does not work in any app including the built-in camera app. Zoom is updated but the camera dropdown is empty with no cameras available.
