Google Docs not working offline or changes aren't saving

Offline mode isn't turned on by default — you have to enable it in your Google Drive settings first. Once you do, your documents download and you can work without internet. Changes automatically save back when you reconnect.

Google Docs needs offline mode turned on in your settings before it will work without internet. Your browser also needs to be allowed to save files locally. Once you flip the switch and wait a couple of minutes for your documents to download, you can work anywhere.
