Your new smart home device won't pair with the hub

Your device and hub are probably too far apart or can't see each other through walls. Move the new device within 20 feet of the hub during pairing. Make sure the hub power cable is fully plugged in.

Smart home hubs talk to devices using WiFi, Bluetooth, or Zigbee -- wireless signals that don't travel far through walls and metal. When a new device won't pair, it's almost always because your computer is too far from the hub or the hub isn't powered properly. Move your computer close to the hub, make sure the hub is plugged in firmly, and try again.
