Smart lock auto-lock feature is not working
The auto-lock feature is either disabled in the app or the lock lost connection to WiFi. First check that auto-lock is enabled in the app settings. Then restart the lock by removing the batteries for 10 seconds. This reconnects the lock and enables auto-lock again.
Auto-lock requires the lock to have a constant WiFi connection and the feature to be enabled in the app. When the connection drops or the setting gets toggled off, the auto-lock stops working. We will check the auto-lock setting, make sure the lock is online, and reconnect it to WiFi if needed.
- ✓Have your smart lock accessible so you can remove batteries or restart it
- ✓Have the smart lock app open on your phone
- ✓Know the WiFi network name your lock uses
- ✓Have admin access to the lock settings in the app
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Assuming auto-lock is broken when really the feature is just toggled off in settings. Always check the setting first
- Not waiting long enough after restarting the lock for it to reconnect to WiFi. It needs about 60 seconds
- Setting the auto-lock timeout to a very short time like 5 seconds, then thinking it is broken. Test with a longer time first
Signs you need professional help
- You have enabled auto-lock and the lock is online but still does not lock automatically. The lock keeps showing as Offline no matter how many times you restart it. The battery is replaced but auto-lock is still not working.
