Smart lights flickering when you dim them
Smart lights flicker when dimmed because the brightness level is too low for the bulb or the dimmer isn't compatible with that type of light. Try raising the minimum brightness level in the app settings. This stops the flicker without changing how bright the light is at normal levels.
LED and smart bulbs are picky about how low they can go. If you try to dim them below a certain point, they can't maintain a steady glow and start flickering. This is fixable by setting a minimum brightness level in the app. Anywhere from 15-30% stops it. If that doesn't work, the dimmer itself can not be compatible with that type of bulb.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Trying to dim a non-dimmable bulb. Make sure your bulb is rated for dimming before troubleshooting further
- Not checking what type of dimmer you have before buying a smart bulb. Not all smart bulbs work with all dimmers
- Setting the minimum brightness too low. If it's still near the flicker point, raise it higher
Signs you need professional help
- You've set a minimum brightness and the light still flickers at any level. Flickering happens with multiple bulbs on the same dimmer. The dimmer needs replacing. You're not confident replacing the dimmer yourself. Hire a licensed electrician to avoid electrical hazards
