Smart bulb not responding to the app anymore
The bulb has lost its WiFi connection. Go to your router and check if the bulb is still listed on your network. If it's not there, the bulb needs to be reconnected. Reset the bulb by turning the physical light switch off for 10 seconds, then back on.
Smart bulbs control themselves through WiFi. When the connection drops. Which happens when routers restart, WiFi gets congested, or the bulb moves too far from the router. The app can no longer talk to it. The physical bulb still works, and it can still respond to voice commands if you have a hub, but the app loses control. The fix is just reconnecting the bulb to your WiFi, which takes a couple of minutes.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Only turning the switch off for a second or two instead of the full 10 seconds. The reset needs time to take effect
- Trying to reconnect before the bulb has fully booted up after reset. Wait 30 seconds
- Not checking whether other bulbs in the same app are offline. If they all are, it's your WiFi router, not the bulb
Signs you need professional help
- The bulb won't reconnect to the app even after a full reset and you've tried from two different phones. All your smart bulbs went offline at the same time but your WiFi is still working on your computer and phone. The bulb is completely dark and won't respond to the physical light switch either
