Smart bulb connects but won't change color or only shows white

The bulb model might not support color, or the firmware is outdated and needs updating. Check that you're using a color-capable bulb first, then update the bulb firmware and power cycle it.

Smart color bulbs need to be color-capable models, and they need the right firmware version to work. If you're using a white-light-only bulb, it will never change colors. We'll verify your bulb model supports color, update the firmware, and reset the bulb to restore color functionality.
