Smart bulb flickering or flashing on its own

Smart bulbs flicker when they're struggling to communicate with the app, the WiFi signal is weak, or the light switch is cutting power. Most of the time it's a weak WiFi signal — move the WiFi router or bulb closer together and the flickering stops immediately.

Smart bulbs need constant contact with your app and WiFi router to work smoothly. When the WiFi signal is weak, the bulb flickers or flashes while trying to reconnect. The wall switch can also cause issues if it's cutting power to the bulb. Start by checking WiFi signal strength and making sure the wall switch is always on.
