Can't share smart home device access with your partner

Device sharing requires both of you to be on the same WiFi network and signed into the correct account in the app. First, make sure you both have the app installed and are signed in. Then check that you're sharing through the right menu. It's not a simple friend add, it's a specific share or invite feature inside the app's settings.
