WiFi doesn't reach upstairs or far rooms in my home

Your router is too far from upstairs or positioned in a location that doesn't broadcast signal upward. Move the router up off the floor, to a central location, or use a mesh WiFi system to extend coverage. A mesh system is the best long-term solution for multi-floor homes.

WiFi range is limited by distance and physical obstacles. When the router is in the basement or on the ground floor in a corner, upper floors lose signal. Moving the router to a central location, mounting it high, or adding a mesh system restores coverage.

⚡ Before you start
  • Identify where your router is currently located (basement, ground floor, closet, etc.)
  • Check if other devices upstairs can see the WiFi network — if they can see it but it's weak, it's a signal strength issue
  • Know approximately how many floors or rooms away upstairs is from the router location
