How to set up parental controls on your router

Most routers have parental controls built in, but the exact location varies. You'll access it through the router's admin page and then create rules for websites or devices. We'll walk you through the most common router brands.

Parental controls work at the router level, which means they affect all devices using that Wi-Fi. You can block specific websites, set time limits, or restrict certain devices completely. Because the controls are on the router, you don't need to set them up on each individual device.
