Trackpad cursor jumping around while you type
Your palm is touching the trackpad while you type and causing the cursor to move. Turn on palm rejection in trackpad settings so your hand input doesn't register while typing. This fixes it in most cases.
When you type, your hand naturally rests on the trackpad. Without palm rejection enabled, the trackpad thinks you're trying to click or move the cursor. Turning on palm detection tells your computer to ignore your palm and only listen to your fingertips. You can also try resting your palm further away from the trackpad while typing.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step — just tap, no typing needed.
