Second monitor not being detected by your computer
The monitor probably isn't detected because of a loose cable, wrong cable type, or a driver issue. Check that the cable is plugged in firmly on both ends, give Windows 30 seconds and move the mouse. If it's still dark, restart your computer with both monitors plugged in. If it still doesn't work, update your graphics driver.
When a second monitor doesn't show up, it's almost always a cable problem or Windows not recognizing the monitor at startup. The fix is simple: check that the cable is plugged in firmly, restart your computer, and wait for Windows to detect it. If that doesn't work, your graphics driver can not be up to date. Updating it fixes the problem. In rare cases, the cable or port is broken and you'll need a new cable or to try a different port.
