Monitor says No Signal but the computer is running

The video cable connecting your computer to the monitor has come loose or failed. Unplug the cable from both the monitor and computer, wait five seconds, and plug it back in firmly. This fixes the problem 80% of the time.

The cable carrying your video signal from the computer to the monitor is the weak link. It can come loose from vibration, get bent, or fail over time. If the cable isn't plugged in firmly, the monitor receives no signal and shows 'No Signal' even though your computer is working fine. The fix is as simple as reseating the cable.
