KVM switch not switching between computers properly
KVM switches fail to switch when the power isn't right, the cables are loose, or the switch needs to be reset. First, unplug the KVM switch completely for 10 seconds, then plug it back in — this fixes it for most people. If that doesn't work, check that all cables are pushed in firmly until they click.
A KVM switch lets you control multiple computers with one keyboard, mouse, and monitor. When it stops switching, something is preventing the switch from actually changing the connection. The problem is almost always loose cables, power issues, or the switch needing a restart. We'll check the cables first, then power-cycle the switch, then look at any software settings if needed.
