Mac has slow WiFi but every other device is fine
Your Mac is probably connecting to the slower band of your WiFi. Your router broadcasts both a fast 5GHz band and a slower 2.4GHz band. Your Machave picked the slower one. Go to WiFi settings and look at which network you're connected to.
Modern routers broadcast WiFi on two different frequencies. 5GHz, which is faster, and 2.4GHz, which is slower but has longer range. If your Mac is stuck on the 2.4GHz band, everything will feel slow even though the router is fine. The easiest fix is to forget the WiFi network and reconnect. Your Mac will switch to the faster band automatically.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the router is broken when really your Mac is on the slower band. Other devices are proof the router is fine
- Not realizing a cloud backup is silently running in the background and using all the bandwidth
- Thinking the distance doesn't matter when you're far from the router. WiFi speed drops significantly with distance
Signs you need professional help
- You've forgotten and reconnected to WiFi and it's still slow Your Mac is close to the router and still slow even after reconnecting Other devices are getting normal speed but your Mac is stuck at a fraction of that speed
