No sound coming from your Mac speakers at all

Silent Mac speakers are almost always caused by the wrong output device being selected or the master volume being set to zero. Check your Sound settings to see if your internal speakers are selected and turn the volume up — this fixes it for almost everyone.

Your Mac can output audio to many different devices: built-in speakers, headphones, AirPods, external speakers, or even TVs connected via HDMI. When you cannot hear anything, the Mac is sending sound to a device that is not currently connected, or the main volume is muted. The fix is to open Sound settings, select your built-in speakers, and turn the volume up.
