Mac screen recording not capturing or no audio
Screen recording needs permission to use your microphone and to capture your screen. Check System Settings to allow it, and make sure you've selected the right microphone if you want audio. Most recording problems are permission issues that take 30 seconds to fix.
Screen recording on Mac uses the built-in tools in QuickTime or the screenshot app. When it stops working, it's in most cases because permissions are blocked or the wrong microphone is selected. We'll check permissions, pick the right microphone, and make sure the app has access to what it needs.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step — just tap, no typing needed.

- Thinking you only need screen recording permission. You also need to give the app permission to use your microphone separately.
- Forgetting to select a microphone before recording. The app needs to know which microphone to listen to.
