Your iPhone hotspot isn't showing up or won't connect
Nine times out of ten, restarting both your iPhone and your iPhone you're trying to connect fixes this. If it doesn't, make sure Personal Hotspot is turned on in your iPhone settings, check if airplane mode is off, and reset the network settings on your iPhone trying to connect.
Your iPhone shares its internet connection with other devices through Personal Hotspot. When it's not showing up or won't connect, it's because the hotspot needs to be turned on, airplane mode is on, or the other device has forgotten the connection. We'll walk through turning the hotspot on, restarting both devices, and telling the other device to forget the connection and reconnect.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Assuming hotspot is on when it's actually off — always check Settings → General → Personal Hotspot and look for the blue toggle
- Forgetting that airplane mode blocks hotspot — if airplane mode is on, nothing will connect no matter what else you do
- Not restarting both devices — sometimes the simplest fix is a full restart of both the iPhone and your iPhone trying to connect
