iPhone camera shows black screen
The Camera app usually has a temporary glitch that a restart fixes. If the app is freezing or crashed, closing it and reopening it solves most black screen issues.
A black screen in the Camera app means the app crashed, was interrupted, or is using a restricted camera feature. We'll close the Camera app completely, restart your phone, and check that you haven't restricted camera access in Settings. This clears the blockage and gets your camera back.
