Back Tap not triggering actions on iPhone
Back Tap is probably turned off by accident, or the app you're tapping back in doesn't support it. Turn it back on in Accessibility settings and make sure you're tapping firmly on the lower back of your phone. This fixes it in most cases.
Back Tap is a feature that lets you double-tap or triple-tap the back of your iPhone to trigger an action. If it stops working, it's turned off in settings, or the specific app you're using doesn't support it. We'll check if it's enabled, test it with the right technique, and pick a new action if needed.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step — just tap, no typing needed.
Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Tapping the middle or upper back instead of the lower back where the sensor is
- Tapping too lightly or too slowly. It needs to be a quick, firm tap like tapping a table
- Trying to use Back Tap in apps that don't support it. It works everywhere except a few specific apps
