How to create a strong password you can actually remember

A strong password is at least 12 characters long and mixes uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. The easiest way to remember one is to use the first letters of a sentence you know. For example, 'I bought my cat Sam 5 years ago!' becomes IBmcS5ya!. You only need to do this for accounts that matter.

Strong passwords are hard to crack because they're long and mix different types of characters. Uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. But long random passwords are also impossible to remember, so you end up writing them down, which defeats the purpose. The trick is to create a password from something you'll naturally remember. A sentence, a favorite quote, or a song lyric. Take the first letter of each word and add a number or symbol, and you get something strong that you can recall.
