Browser cookies explained. What they are and whether to accept them

Cookies are small files websites store on your computer to remember things like your login or preferences. Some cookies are necessary like login sessions, some are for tracking ads which is optional. Accept necessary cookies, reject tracking cookies unless you don't mind being tracked.

Cookies themselves aren't dangerous. They're just text files. But they're used for tracking: websites and advertisers watch what you look at to sell you targeted ads. Reject tracking and marketing cookies to avoid this. Accept functional cookies so websites work properly like shopping carts and logins.
