Phishing emails explained — how to spot and avoid them

Phishing is fake emails pretending to be from companies you trust, designed to steal your password or credit card. The easiest way to avoid it: never click links in emails. Instead, type the company's web address directly into your browser or call their phone number.

Phishing is a scam where criminals send fake emails impersonating banks, Amazon, PayPal, Apple, or other trusted companies. The goal is to trick you into clicking a malicious link or entering your password on a fake website. Once they have your password, they access your real account and steal money or identity information.
