What is rest mode on a games console?

Rest mode puts your console into a low-power state where it stays connected to the internet but uses almost no energy. Games and downloads pause, but they resume instantly when you turn the console back on. It's great for saving power when you're taking a break.

Rest mode is a sleep state for your console. It stops running games but keeps the console plugged in and connected to the internet at very low power. You can resume exactly where you left off when you wake the console back up. It's different from fully powering off — rest mode uses a little power, but shutdown uses none.
