Controller buttons not responding or registering presses
This is almost certainly a wireless connection problem or the controller needs a restart. Unplug your console from power, hold the power button on the controller for 10 seconds, plug the console back in, and reconnect the controller. This fixes it for most people.
When a controller button doesn't register, the signal between your controller and console either isn't getting through, or the controller's memory needs clearing. Sometimes it's just a loose connection. Most of the time, restarting both the controller and console will fix it. If buttons still don't work after that, the button itself is stuck or damaged.
