You can't hear your friends in party chat
Party chat is almost always silent because you have party chat audio muted in your console settings. Go to your audio settings and check if Party Chat volume is turned all the way down or muted. It's next to a speaker icon with a slash through it — turn that up and you'll hear your friends immediately.
Your console has separate volume controls for game sounds and party chat. If the party chat volume is set to zero or muted, you won't hear anything even though your friends are talking. We'll walk you through finding the party chat volume slider and turning it back up. This is the cause about 90% of the time.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step — just tap, no typing needed.

- Checking if party chat is muted in the party chat menu instead of checking console audio settings
