What is continuous recording vs event-based recording on a camera?

Continuous recording means the camera is always recording video to storage, even when nothing is happening. Event-based recording only saves video when motion or an activity is detected. Continuous uses more storage space but captures everything — event-based saves space but can miss events.

Security cameras can record in two ways. Continuous recording is like having a security guard watching your space 24/7 and writing everything down — you get complete footage of every second. Event-based recording is like the guard only writing notes when something interesting happens — you save storage space but focus only on motion and alerts. Which one you choose depends on how much storage you have and whether you want complete coverage or just highlights.
