Security camera live view takes forever to load
Slow live view is caused by slow internet speed or weak WiFi at the camera. Check your upload speed at speedtest.net. If it's below 5 Mbps, upgrade your internet. If speed is fine, move the camera closer to the router.
Live view streams video from your camera to your phone using upload speed and WiFi signal. When your upload speed is slow, the camera can't send video fast enough and you see long loading times. Moving the camera closer to your router or upgrading your internet solves this completely.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Checking download speed instead of upload speed. Upload is what matters for sending video from the camera to your phone
- Assuming the problem is the camera when it's actually the internet. The camera can't make video appear faster than your upload speed allows
- Not realizing that multiple people streaming at the same time will slow down the camera. Bandwidth has to be shared
Signs you need professional help
- You've confirmed upload speed is fast, the camera has strong WiFi signal, and live view still loads slowly. There's a camera or app issue, or nothing changed but the camera was working fine last month. Something on your network has changed now, or you're not sure how to read the speedtest results. Give us a call and we'll walk you through it.
