Remote desktop connection keeps dropping

Remote desktop drops are almost always caused by an unstable internet connection or WiFi signal that keeps cutting out. Switch to a wired connection if you can. That fixes most drop-outs immediately. If you're stuck on WiFi, move closer to the router or use a WiFi analyzer to find a less crowded channel.

Remote desktop works like a live video feed. Your computer stays connected to the office computer through your internet connection. When that connection is shaky or keeps losing the WiFi signal, the feed cuts out. The quickest fix is switching from WiFi to a wired ethernet connection. If you're at home, that's an ethernet cable plugged into your modem.
