Card reader not connecting to the POS system

A card reader loses connection when the Bluetooth or cable gets interrupted. The quickest fix is to restart both devices: turn off the card reader for 10 seconds, then turn it back on while the POS app is open. This forces them to find each other again and works for most people.

Your card reader talks to the POS system through Bluetooth or a USB cable. When that connection drops, the POS app can't find it anymore and shows it as offline. Restarting the card reader clears any connection hiccup and lets it pair up with your POS system again. If restarting doesn't work, your devices can be out of range or the Bluetooth connection needs to be refreshed in settings.
