Background effects not showing up in Microsoft Teams
Teams needs to check your camera and system before background effects work. This is quick to fix. First, make sure Teams has permission to use your camera in your computer's settings. If that's already on, restart Teams completely and the effects button will reappear.
Background effects need your camera to work and your computer to be able to handle the processing. Teams hides these options if something's blocking your camera or if your computer isn't set up right. First, give Teams camera permission in your computer settings. If that doesn't work, restart Teams to make it re-check what's available.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Not restarting Teams after giving camera permission. Teams only checks permissions when it starts up, not while it's running
- Assuming the option is missing when it's actually grayed out. Grayed out means something else is blocking it, not that it's not available
- Trying to use background effects without ever giving Teams camera permission. Permission is required before the option even appears
