SharePoint list not showing all items even though they're there
A view or filter is hiding those items. Check if there's a filter applied by looking at the column headers. You'll see a funnel icon if a filter is active. Click the filter icon and clear it to show all items.
SharePoint lists use views and filters to show and hide items. A filter can be active on one or more columns, or you can be looking at a view that only shows items matching certain rules. The items haven't been deleted. They're just hidden by the current settings. Clear any active filters or switch to the default view to see everything again.

- Assuming items have been deleted when they're just hidden by a filter. Always clear the filter first before thinking data is lost
- Looking at a custom view and thinking that's the complete list. Custom views have filters applied
- Not scrolling to the bottom to load more items. Thinking the last item on screen is the actual last item
