Online Archive mailbox not showing up in Outlook
Your archive exists but Outlook just isn't showing it. You need to add it to your folder list. On Windows and Mac, go to File → Account Settings → Account Settings, click your account, then click Open Archive Mailbox. On the web, you're already looking at both mailboxes together.
Your archive mailbox is a separate storage area for older emails, and it needs to be turned on to show up in Outlook. Once it's displayed, you'll see it as a second mailbox in your folder list, or it can appear collapsed under a dropdown. Adding it takes about 30 seconds.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step — just tap, no typing needed.
Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Looking for the archive before your admin has set it up. Ask your admin first before you try to add it
- Thinking your archive is missing when it's actually just collapsed. Look for a small arrow next to Archive Mailbox and click it
- Not waiting the full 30 minutes after your admin enables it. It takes time to sync across Microsoft 365
