Gesture navigation (swipe up/back) not working on Android
Gesture navigation is turned off in your settings. Go to Display settings and switch from 3-button navigation to Gesture navigation. If it's already on, restart your phone. If the problem persists, your phone doesn't support gestures, or a system update disabled them.
Gesture navigation is a navigation system that uses swipes instead of buttons to go back or home. If it's not working, it's turned off in settings, or your phone needs a restart. We'll check your settings and make sure gestures are enabled.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step — just tap, no typing needed.
Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Swiping from the middle of the screen instead of the edge. Gestures only work from the edges
- Thinking the phone is broken when really gesture navigation is just turned off in settings
- Having a case so thick that it blocks the sensors. Some cases are too protective
- Not realizing different phones have slightly different navigation options
