Camera app crashes every time you open it
The camera app needs to be cleared and restarted. Go to Settings → Apps → Camera → Storage → Clear Cache and Clear Data, then try opening the camera again. If it's still broken, restart your phone and update the camera app.
When the camera app crashes immediately, it's because cached files are corrupted or the app needs an update. We'll clear out the corrupted data, update the app if there's a new version available, and restart your phone to get everything working again.

Skip — I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Only clearing cache instead of data. Cache clears temporary files, but data clears the app's settings and saved state
- Not restarting after clearing cache. The app needs a restart to fully reset
- Assuming the camera hardware is broken when the stock camera app is just the problem. Test with another app first
Signs you need professional help
- If you've cleared cache and data, updated the app, restarted, and the camera still crashes immediately, or if other camera apps also crash when you try to use them, get in touch for hardware diagnostics.
